Hey, Let’s talk about something we rarely pause to examine: Our mindset around money. Not your budget. Not your account balance. But the beliefs that shape how you earn, save, spend, and feel about all of it. Over the years, I’ve noticed a pattern. Most people land on one of two ends of the spectrum — and usually don’t realize it. Here's a simple way to think about the Money Mindset Spectrum 👇 |

😰 Scarcity Mindset “There’s never enough. I can’t afford to mess up.” You might be here if: |
You feel guilty spending—even on things you value
You obsess over saving every dollar, even when it costs time or peace
You avoid investing because the risk feels terrifying
You live like you’re still broke, even if things have improved
This mindset often comes from survival mode—where cutting costs was necessary. But over time, it can create stress, burnout, and a sense of never feeling safe, even when you are. This is not a bad place to be if resources really are scarce, but it's not the place to stay forever.

💸 Overconsumption Mindset “I deserve this. I’ll deal with the consequences later.” You might be here if: |
You spend to cope with stress, boredom, or comparison
You justify purchases with “YOLO” energy—but feel regret later
You max out credit cards or carry a big balance into the next month
You avoid looking at your account until it’s absolutely necessary
You treat financial planning like a punishment instead of a pathway
This mindset often comes from a desire for freedom or self-worth—but without boundaries, it leads to instability, anxiety, and debt. Everyone deserves to treat yo' self every once in a while, but we need to have healthy limits.

✨ Values-Based Mindset (Center) “I use money to support what matters most.” You might be here if: |
You have clear goals and use money as a tool to reach them
You spend on what aligns with your values and skip what doesn’t
You feel confident saving, giving, and investing—even if imperfectly
You don’t stress over every dollar because your system reflects your priorities
This is the healthiest place to be. Not perfect. Not rigid. Just intentional.

🧭 Where Do You Land? Most of us don’t live in one mindset 100% of the time. You might be values-based with how you save—but scarcity-driven when it comes to spending on yourself. Or maybe you’re great at earning but tend to swing toward overconsumption on the weekends. No shame. No judgment. Just awareness. The goal is not perfection—it’s to move closer to the center, where your money habits reflect the life you want to live. |
