I'm Andrew — a licensed therapist and financial coach. I help individuals and couples manage money with less stress and more clarity, blending therapeutic tools like empathy and reflection with practical financial strategies. Together we uncover the "why" behind your habits and build simple systems that fit your real life. No shame, no spreadsheets, and no confusion.
Why It Works
Most apps automate everything, which actually reinforces avoidance. My approach, and the Mouni app, uses gentle, intentional engagement to build real financial confidence without the overwhelm.
Exposure reduces avoidance
Gentle, regular contact with your finances makes them feel less scary over time.
Repetition builds familiarity
Checking in every 2–4 weeks creates a rhythm that feels manageable, not overwhelming.
Systems reduce overwhelm
A structured routine beats the chaos of constant monitoring or total avoidance.
Clarity reduces anxiety
Knowing exactly where you stand — even when it's hard — brings real peace of mind.

FAQ
What exactly is financial coaching, and how is it different from therapy or financial advising?
Financial coaching is about helping you feel calm, confident, and clear about your money. Unlike therapy, it’s not focused on mental health treatment, and unlike financial advising, it’s not about selling investments or managing your portfolio. Instead, we’ll look at your values, habits, and money systems to create a plan that actually feels doable for your life.
Please note that I’m not a financial advisor, accountant, or CPA. My role is to provide financial coaching and education to help you organize your finances, clarify your next steps, and build confidence in your money decisions. For specific investment, tax, or legal advice, I can help you identify when it might be best to consult a licensed professional.
Do I need to have my finances “in order” before starting coaching?
Not at all. You don’t need a polished budget or a perfect spreadsheet. Many people come to their first session feeling scattered or even embarrassed — and that’s completely normal. Our time together is about starting from where you are and building clarity step by step.
I will request that you set up an account on www.mouni.app, so that we can go over your financial information together without wasting time logging into accounts, searching for money, etc. But if even that feels overwhelming, let's talk! I'm here to reduce the barriers and stress you are experiencing.
What kinds of results can I expect from working with you?
Results look a little different for everyone. Some people walk away with $200 more in savings each month, others with a clear plan to tackle credit card debt, and many with a much lighter, calmer mindset about money. The common thread: you'll leave with clarity, next steps, and tools you can actually use.
How much does coaching cost, and is it worth it compared to free resources?
The session fee reflects the combination of personalized guidance, practical tools, and a supportive space that free blogs or videos can't offer. Free resources are great for general education, but coaching is about you — your values, your stress points, your next steps. Think of it as an investment in making sure your financial efforts actually stick. Free resources are like having a gym membership — all the tools are there, but it's up to you to figure out how to use them. Coaching is like joining a class with an instructor guiding you through the equipment step by step, helping you build confidence and momentum with accountability. I'm more than happy to provide you with all the tools you need to succeed, but your success is entirely in your hands. Have questions? Email me at [email protected]
Who is Mouni Finance best for?
I specialize in working with young adults, first-time budgeters, and professionals who feel "behind" on financial adulting. I especially love helping people through big life transitions — graduating from school, getting married, moving, or starting a new job — when money questions often feel the heaviest. If you're looking for less overwhelm, more clarity, and a plan that actually fits your values and stage of life, you're in the right place.
What's included in the session price?
Your session isn't just the hour we spend talking. You'll also receive: A short pre-session questionnaire so I can understand your situation ahead of time; A personalized roadmap or action plan based on what we discuss; Access to simple tools like the Mouni Money Map and Money Tracker; Follow-up communication with notes and clear next steps; Continued accountability and check-ins to ensure you're meeting your goals; Free Premium access to the Mouni App (www.mouni.app).
What do I need to know about my first session?
All you need to bring is yourself. If you already have a sense of your income, debts, or budget, that's helpful — but not required. You'll get a few short pre-session questions to fill out so we don't spend the whole time on basics. The first session is about building clarity and a calm path forward, not perfection.
What if I'm not satisfied with my coaching call?
If you don't feel the session was valuable, I'll make it right. That might mean a follow-up session at no cost or a refund — the point is, I want you to walk away feeling supported and confident. Please contact me at [email protected], and I will make it right.
What if I can't afford the session price?
Money stress is real, and I don't want cost to be a barrier. I offer flexible options like one-off sessions, packages at a reduced rate, and sometimes sliding-scale pricing. If budget is the only thing standing in the way, reach out to me at [email protected] and we can discuss what's possible.
How does the Mouni App track my net worth?
The app connects securely to your financial accounts and automatically updates your assets and liabilities, giving you a real-time snapshot of your net worth. The dashboard relies on behavioral psychology to require manual interaction (“Financial Review”) with your accounts and finances to ensure you stay disciplined and committed.
Can I customize my budget categories?
Yes, you can create, edit, and organize budget categories to fit your personal spending habits and financial goals.
Is my financial data safe with Mouni Finance?
We use encryption and seek to follow all security best practices for financial apps to protect your data and privacy at all times. We never sell your data. We don't store any bank account numbers, login information, or other sensitive information. You’re in full control of what information you connect or leave out.
What features are included in the free trial?
The free trial provides full access to net worth tracking, budgeting tools, and account management for 7 days with no commitment and no credit card information. You can continue for free forever without the premium features.
Why manual updates instead of background syncing?
Background syncing is convenient, but it removes you from the process. When you manually enter/review balances, you're forced to look at your numbers, which builds awareness and reduces avoidance. It's similar to how writing notes by hand improves retention compared to typing — the physical act of engagement matters. This 10-15 minute ritual every few weeks creates a healthy relationship with your finances. Growth never happens without friction or resistance.
What’s the time commitment?
The Financial Review takes about 15-20 minutes every 2-4 weeks. While automatic apps require less time upfront, they often lead to longer periods of avoidance, which creates more stress and confusion later. This small, regular time investment prevents the hours of anxiety that come from not knowing where you stand. Think of it as preventative care for your financial wellbeing. I have been personally engaging in this practice for over 6 years with tremendous success that I never found using other apps.
What if I avoid my numbers because they make me anxious?
This is exactly why I built Mouni this way. Financial avoidance is incredibly common, often rooted in shame or past experiences. My approach uses gentle exposure therapy principles — small, regular, manageable check-ins that reduce anxiety over time. The app is designed to be non-judgmental. There are no red alerts, no shaming notifications, just clear information. Many users find that after a few financial reviews, looking at their numbers becomes less scary and more empowering.
Can couples use this together?
Yes, the app works well for couples. You can set up joint accounts and individual accounts, and the Planning tab helps facilitate conversations about shared values and individual needs. Many couples find that the structured Financial Review creates a neutral, regular time to discuss finances without it feeling like a confrontation. More features for couples will be coming in the future.
What if I forget to do the Financial Review?
Life happens, and missing a review occasionally is fine. The app will remind you after 2-4 weeks, but there are no penalties or aggressive notifications. When you're ready, simply pick up where you left off. The system is designed to be forgiving because financial wellbeing is a long-term practice, not a perfect streak.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We don't store your banking credentials. Your data is encrypted and stored securely. You have the option to export your data at any time, and we never sell your information to third parties.
